Based on the pediatrician’s report card – I would characterize Katie Anne as one of the 35% of children who don’t fit into any one individual Thomas & Chess’s classic temperament categories. She shows a blend of the characteristics. For example, she is “difficult” when she reacts negatively if she is upset and is hard to soothe. Yet, she is “easy” in that she warms up fairly quickly to new experiences.
Katie Anne’s emotional reactions are typical for her age. She experiences fear of total strangers and separation anxiety, just as many 8 month old children do. At 3 months, she preferred me to my husband. So we had my husband get more involved in her care to increase her sense of trust. By 8 months, she preferred the two of us to any of her other caregivers.
Katie Anne needs a larger variety of baby food and ground up fruits and vegetables. Her sleeping patterns are stabilizing, but her gross and fine motor skills label her as advanced when graded next to her peers. She enjoys crawling, pulling up to stand and manipulating objects.

Our virtual experiences seem to be quite similar. It will be interesting to see how they develop.
One of my friend's name is Katie Anne, when I saw the name of your virtual child...I was surprised that it was the same. Anyways, at least your kid is wanting to stand is doing average in her motor skills, mines a little lacking in that area.
It sounds like our kids both need some more grown up food if thats what we must call it. I am a little worried about introducing different foods to my baby at this time cause I don't really know if it will have a positive outcome but since your doing it too it makes me feel a little better. Good Luck.
Hi Katie,
I think it is great you didn’t characterize your virtual child like most people would. It seem that every time you have to select 1,2 or 3, people do so. This shows you really know your virtual child well and understand the characteristics offered. Your blog was interesting and similar in the attachment part of the child.
I put some grown up food in a baby grinder for my son. I would rather know what he is eating than give him stuff in a jar with preservatives. It is more work to make his food, but it gives me some peace of mind!
My baby also doesn't fit into any one category. I'm glad your baby is eating "big kid" foods...mine really isn't yet.
